short shot problems

short shot problems
I just put vance and hines short shots on my 11 wide glide. I can not get the black shields to have they same amount of chrome pipe showing at the end. (If that makes sense). The top pipe has about a 1/4 inch sticking past the shield and the bottom pipe has like a 1/2 inch. Anybody else have this problem.

This is what I was thinking. I installed a set of short shots about two months ago and I didn't have this problem. I did have to manipulate the clamps a bit though.

Are you talking about the short shots STAGGERED like in fenderzig's sig. or the regular short shots, which have the flush ends? Flush ends won't allow for adjustment as far as I know. The staggered ones should have plenty of room to adjust, make sure your not hung up on anything and the hose clamps should have some movement.
