It's not very hard at all. There are levers that raise the dolly up off the wheels to that it doesn't move while you load the bike. Haven't taken it off yet so I can't say how hard that will be.I don't foresee any problems there.

The quality of the dolly doesn't bother me, it's the quality of the hardware and the wheels that sticks in my throat.

I can't tell from the pics. Do you think it can handle the FXDWG's extra 4" of wheelbase?

Default Wheel Base

I don't know but I have 5 degree trees on my bike and that maxes out all the room on the rail...It's usable space is about 79 inches. I think the stock rake was on an 06 street bob was 29 add 5 degrees to it and compare that to your rake in degrees. You will need to measure and see.

I use the HF dollies for a Fat Bob, Softail, Sporty, and FLHTC full dresser.
My bagger is tight, but all fit on the dollies. Heavier the bike, the harder to load and move around, but overall they work pretty well.

I know this is an old thread, but no, the wide glide won't fit. I know because the road king in my sig just barely fits, I can't even put the bars on both ends. Therefore, the wide glides extra 5" of wheelbase certainly won't fit. I just bought a wide glide just like yours, and wanted to use the dolly, but looked up the wheelbases and didn't even bother.

That has to be wrong because I've been rolling my WG around my garage on that exact dolly for a couple of years.

As for the hardware sucking... I hadn't noticed that either. I've never lubed mine and have had no problems rolling it around the garage.

As for on off... in the winter, my bike goes on and off the dolly every time I ride, and that's pretty much every day. Works well. Easy to do.

Lol, I have a confession- last night after I posted this, I found your quoted thread, but was too tired to come back here and correct myself. While I find it hard to believe that a bike with 5" more wheelbase will fit, I believe you since you said you've done it. I'm thinking that maybe it has to do with kickstand placement and maybe the road king isn't all the way forward. I guess I will try it now rather than just relying on my calculations

I think it has to do with where the contact patch of the tires is. The bike goes out beyond the contact patches on the tires, but it only has to fit on the dolly from contact patch to contact patch.

I'll tell you what though... if my bike was an inch longer, it wouldn't fit. When I flip up the little ramps at either end, they push right up against the tire.

I had the street bob on one and felt it was too long and gave up. I have enough sportbikes for the three that I have and they are great.

Re: the hardware, I found the ones that didn't roll smoothly were because the wheels were rubbing on something. once I 'tweaked' them, they rolled more smoothly. But yes, it is definitely an area for improvement. But at this price, I am happy with them.
