Default Audio for your Dyna

I have been looking at the Cycle Sound 3" speakers that they say handles 200 watts but don't say what the amp puts out. And the Kuryakyn Sound of Chrome that the Amp is 50 watts. Anybody bought either one of these?

Default fork bag stereo

Oldguyalso,

I don't have any info on the two set ups your referring too, but you may want to check out this system that a forum member, JRK5892, Joe the powder coater builds. I have one and it is really cool. The one Joe built me is a 300 watt system.

One thing to be aware of is that without using a windshield your not going to have the best sound due to wind noise/frequency cancellation, this is true for any sound system you purchase imho.

Do a search for: forkbag stereo and fork bag stereo to get all the pertinent threads.

check out this thread for some info on the fork bag stereo:

Cheers,

Tom

Have not tried either of those but I got the Hogtunes handlebar soundsystem. Its not to bad. The sound greatly depends on what mp3 player you are useing. We tried three and finally settled with an ipod. The sound is pretty good till about 60 mph then the wind noise is to much. I am running a windshield also. Just my 2 cents worth. good luck.

I just use my ipod nano with a good set of ear buds when I want some tunes on longer rides. Keeps the clean look of the front end, no equipment to install, good sound quality at almost any speed and A LOT cheaper than a bar mounted set up. Just my two cents.

Totally agree. I use skull candy ear buds. $20 at the store and about $12 on amazon.com. My girlfriend djs and we use a headphone splitter. They are nice ear buds and Cut noise down from wind on longer rides.

i agree as well. 8GB zune with bose earbuds. awesome sound quality on a bike. i suggest, however, that you invest in some earbuds that have noise cancelling qualities. that way you dont need to turn up the music to hear it over the wind noise.

Ok that's what I need to hear. I run a W/S on long trips but was wondering at what speed it was lost with wind noise. We run between 65-85 on our trips and it looks like the earbuds are the way to go, not too legal tho.

I have the Sportech Crank Bag: http://www.sportechinc.com/sportech-...er-tankbag.php

If you have an MP3 player with an built-in amplifier you will hear this small speaker until you get close to 65-70mph. I have a feeling adding two handlebar speakers or that windshield speaker from HD for the windshield in conjunction with this bag would be perfect. Just don't have the funds for the handlebar set yet.

That one looks like a another way to get the tunes. I'm leery of tank bags. They are not suppose to scratch the paint but I don't see how they can't . And with my bike being black don't want to take the chance.

for anyone interested....

(not my actual bike)
i got one of these biologic units and mounted it to the base of the bars between the mounts (comes with easy on mounting bracket. i ran an 1/8" extension cord under the tank panel and wedged the connector between the tank and the seat. now when i get on the bike, i just plug my headphones straight down to the seat. wire stays inside my shirt/jacket so it doesnt blow around or get caught on anything. nice thing about the unit is that it's totally waterproof, so i can use it both for music and as GPS (tomtom app on my iphone). thing is pretty awesome. even has space inside the bottom of the case to plug in the charger, so i could run constant power to it for long runs.

working on mounting some headphones inside a helmet with a 1/8" jack built into the side, so i can disconnect the cord right from the helmet before taking it off, so no cords to wrap up in (i ****ing HATE CORDS).

i could talk about nerd audio **** forever.
