I am looking for replacement factory exhaust for my 2003 Super Glide and I am trying to find out if newer factory exhaust will fit. I have found a set from a 2009 FXD. I know it has O2 bungs but those can be plugged. Other than that, are there any other differences that would prevent me from using them?
I'd first check for aftermarket fitment. If the same part number that fits the '03 also fits the '09, then you have a direct replacement, even if using stock pipes. On the other hand, even if they aren't listed as fitting, as 8541hog mentioned, the mounts may just be different. Some flatbar and a few drilled holes should be able to make them fit.

Since you just going to sell the bike, what's wrong with your existing pipes? Are they scratched, rusted or dented? Can you just scuff them up and paint them flat black with high temp paint?

The problem with the current stock header pipes is they rusted out where the muffler slips on. The Screaming Eagle mufflers and the covers on the header pipes were damaged by the tires and frame on the bicycle I hit at 80mph. Luckily there was no rider on the bike, it fell off of the back of an SUV.

Great idea, I was just thinking about doing that, Thanks!
