First street bob.....
Anywho, I found one locally for $8500, Its all flat black, and has had the emblems and the turn signals removed.
Basically, in a nutshell.........I am wondering how hard it would be to replace the turn signals if I buy this bike. Bear in mind, the guy threw away the turn signals and the wiring, so I am looking at having to wire it up if I buy it. I also plan on replacing the handlebars with some flat track bars, or nightster handlebars........Any thoughts on this? I only want to replace them due to my shoulder problems when riding with the hangers on there for a long period of time.
I am a new Harley guy, so go easy........
Just trying to get some feedback as to what it would take to get the few things that it needs done on there. I would like to get everything priced out so that I can talk him down from there.
Here is what we are looking at.......

signals depend on how he removed them. if he followed the wire back to the connector and just unplugged it, you can find signal sets in classifieds here for under $50 all the time. or spend a little more and get something nicer and aftermarket. if he just cut the wires, you'll just have to do some soldering and splicing. neither is very difficult, although getting to the plugs in the front is kind of a pain in the ***. do-able, but a hassle.
Im pretty sure that he unplugged it at the controls, but not 100%.
Either way, I am thinking that $7800 is a little more like what I would be willing to pay for something like this (that I have to do work on immediately).
Your take?
one thing to look for in the 06's, is they have known inner primary bearing issues. didnt affect all bikes, but when it does its costly. it usually happens within a milage range, but i cant remember what. i'd google that and see what you can find on it. it shouldnt be a deal breaker for you, or something to be overly concerned with, but something to consider.
another thing to take into account is the 'custom' work dude did to the bike. chopping the fender, removing signals etc. make sure he did that stuff right, cause if he just hacked **** apart, it may reflect his upkeep of the bike as a whole. see if it comes with service records, etc. as someone who has done a ton of hack-job customization in the past, i can attest to the hidden mistakes and dangers you can create when you do things wrong.
personally, id do a little more looking. not saying pass this one up, but atleast see what else is out there. should be no shortage of bikes in your relative area i'd assume.

not to mention, living in a military town, people seem to think that "custom" Sportster 883's somehow cost $9500...........haha
