My bike runs great with the pcv and auto tune hooked up. The only thing I don't like is having to start the bike immediately after turning the ignition on instead of waiting for the check engine light to go out. It gives me anxiety and occasionally I'll get a huge backfire out the exhaust. I have used the V&H fuelpak on several other Harleys and never felt a "seat of the pants" improvement like I have with the PCV.
I've had a PC-V on my 07 for 3 years now, and the bike runs great. The 1st year I had it on was a cool summer, last year on a 2-up ride I was experiencing some pinging, e-mailed Jamie the map he adjusted it, and now it runs better than ever.
My PCV left me stranded. Got water in the connections after a rain storm. Haven't ridden my bike 10 miles since putting it back on. Scared it's going to leave me stranded again

The circuit board inside the unit may not be water proof...could always wrap a plastic bag around it..i don't think what you experienced is common though.
I wasn't aware of the "start immediately after turning the ignition on" bit. I wait for the fuel pump to pressure up, then I start it. Never had any problems that way. Did I miss that part in the instructions?
I wait for the pump to stop too(I have a PCIII). I do get a back fire sometimes when starting when it's hot. Sometimes it kicks and i hear the starter grind. I just let off, wait for the pump to stop again, and give it another go. I just always thought it was something to do with the compression of these bikes..

I'm pretty sure it is, because mine did that it was bone stock. I haven't had the "kick" problem since installing the PCV though.

Maybe I should try messing with the maps some more. Do you have all 0's down the 0% throttle position column?? (I don't usually have to touch the throttle when I start it)
For those of you that have installed this unit on a 2007 and up Dyna, how do you like it? Do you regret removing the o2 sensors and running open loop? Do you have a smoother ride?
I have the ventilator air cleaner and a 2-1 exhaust but that is it. I may or may not do more mods way further down the road, if at all.
So I'm not looking for kick *** performance..just a good ride, with a cool engine. Right now I am using xieds, which do the job. I'm just hesitate about losing the o2 feedback to ECM. Everyone raves about the PC-V though.
I was certainly impressed with my PC-V when I hooked it up. Had the HD stage one setup and then added V&H pipes. The PC really "woke up" the engine and the first time I nailed the throttle and hit 2nd gear it darn near pulled a wheelie. Also I can now use 6th gear at 60+ instead of waiting till 70+. Eliminated some low speed surge and has been a totally worth the bucks mod. Fuel Moto updated the map a couple of times to help get rid of some decel pop. Definitely has my seal of approval.

I haven't touched the map. Haven't even loaded software on my PC yet.

I've read a few such complaints. Dielectric grease on the connectors is the solution. A plastic bag would trap moisture which would otherwise just evaporate. Dielectric grease will just plain keep the moisture out. Permatex makes it. Available at any auto parts store or on Amazon.
