On the thundermax do you load the map with the unit off the bike and then install or install unit and map. Seems you would want the map in before you ran the bike. Im curious , never see TM in person. Everyone with a few noteable exceptions who has one seems to really like it.
Think you have to hook the tmat up to bike power before you can load anything. That doesn't mean running the bike.
Thanks for the tips on the sensors. I did watch the video and it seems pretty straight forward. Is there any way to use the stock wiring for the front O2 sensor or are the connectors different. I can check when it gets here on Monday but thought someone here would know.
No, it is a completely separate unit, and the pieces do not mix.

Just follow the instructions, ALL of them if you want everything to work to the best performance.
No the TMAT must not be locked to a VIN
I installed it updated everything wiped out the map on the unit erased all of the offsets and loaded a new map. Initialized it an went riding. Works great and is getting even better.
Does anyone know how to clear the data from the thundermax. My dad had one on hid dyna then upgraded to a softail and just installed it on the softail. He uploaded the new maps initialized it and the data is still in there from the dyna. It shows all the rpm info, start ups, and everything like that. There is a button in the software to clear the data but it is greyed out. he emailed Thundermax and they said he would have to send it in to get the data cleared.. Hopefully someone here knows the trick to clearing it without sending it in as that would mean no bike for a while. It doesnt affect the bike at all but he would like to be able to see the stats for this bike and not the old one.
Ride it for a while, it will update. If the bike is running well, what does it matter?
Ride for 2-300 miles, do a "Read, Automap, Write" function and don't worry about it.
I've had it on for about a week now. This thing is slick! My street bob pulls like a freight train now. I may re-route the front O2 sensor wiring under the tank, but I have to stop riding to do it
I just installed a used Thundermax with auto tune on my 05 Ultra and also a new set of Reinhart True duals, I installed the front O2 harness under the rear master cylinder, along the right frame, and passed the connector near the starter, Checked for updates, Cleared the old map and learned values, installed the correct map, Initialzed it and it started right up, did the idle relearn, Nice sound! took it for its first ride on Thursday morning, wow is all i can say, a lot smoother on take off, but it really takes off in the top end now like above 3200- 3500rpm, and barking the whole time. Thanks Thunder Max!
I ended up rerouting the front O2 sensor wiring under the tank. Took about 1/2 hour tops and now I'm not worried about the connector and wires being under the bike. It also looks cleaner.
