I did install the High Output horn kit on a 05 WideGlide that I use to have. It was very easy and straightforward but I was not happy with the performance. It was louder than the OE horn but not as loud as I was hoping for. There are some great looking and performing air horns out there that that are pretty compact. I will go that route next time.
How does it sound? Is it the same sort of tone as the factory horn? I've been wanting to install one and get rid of the cowbell. Hate the way it looks.
I am not sure what the tone is but it was not the same as the OE horn. It is supposed to work with the OE horn...so they would compliment each other. It sounded good, just not as loud as I was looking for. I wanted something that would really get your attention and I did not feel that it was up to the task.
Have you ever noticed that the "cow bell" horn is there for a reason other than making a farting sound to warn some idiot with their windows rolled up and the music blaring?
Next time you are on your bike notice the position of the horn to your leg. It really acts as a stop for your leg resting on the cylinder head. Same for the A/C.
But, I'm with you. I want a really "LOUD" horn for those idiots moving into my lane or talking on the phone when the light turns green. I do enjoy loud exhaust for those A-Holes with their windows down and the music blaring. My exhaust against their music wins everytime.
I've got a cool, black & chromed out, boat horn, about the size of the regular horn, that is a definite attention getter and it's just sitting on my shelf waiting for a use.

That's not gonna be a problem. My knee hits the tank long before any part of my leg could ever touch the engine.
I'm ordering the new horn as we speak and the cowbell will come off. Pics of my naked jugs to follow.
