What year did axle size change from 1" to 25mm?

Mathematically they are close enough to be the same but in the HD world they are not the same.

OP...

06-07 = 1" axle

08+ 25mm axle.

Axle Info:
2000-03 Dyna have ž” front axle, 2004-07 Dyna have 1” front axle (except 2004-05 FXDWG), 2000-05 Dyna have 3/4” rear axle, 2006-07 Dyna have 1” rear axle. 2000-05 FXDWG have ž” front and rear axles, 2006-07 FXDWG have 1” front and rear axles. All Dyna have 25mm axles from 2008+.

Hello,regarding switching of bearings.The 25mm bearing is narrower also,therefore if the hub is for a 25mm the 1in bearing will not seat in place all the way in,sticks out about 1/8th in.Just went thru all this putting a custom wheel from a 2010 onto my 03.Had to get a 25mm axle.and use 25mm bearings.the fork lowers are the same.

no it not, yout try to put 25.4mm(1") into 25mm it won't fit

Actually you all have the sizes wrong, 1" = 24.5mm NOT 25.4!!
