Drool!! LOL horsepower yeah! Im thinking of the 107 kit myself. I hear the 103 in stage 3 or 4 works really well to if you want to stay with screaming eagle. I read recently that a lot of people think the 103 is a better deal money wise than the 110 but I dont know firsthand . My streetbob is still stock right now. Good luck and shiny side up . Be sure to put good brakes on so you can stop with all that horsepower.
Why do people want to put more mass and weight on the top end of motor with all that bolt on stuff without working the bottom end to keep it all together?
Shoot you can get 103 to 114 hp out of a 96 cu in motor without to much work
Hey steve o : I think people think if you have a bigger motor you wont have to rev it so high to get in the power band and that in doing that your motor will last longer. yes a good cam, heads etc will make a 96 ci fly.
check out Headquarters. do a search. GMR is also good. stick with a 107 so there is no need for case boring. d&D 2-1 from Dr V twin is the way to go for exhaust. good luck.. for 5000 you should have no problem getting 120-125TQ and 115HP. save a bit more and a 120 kit from HQ is possible with new bottom end. new clutch required for the 120 for sure..
I agree with you Hemi but I thought the 107" was still $1,995 installed and tuned. At least that's what it says in the link I posted. And Blakerea, it also has a dyno sheet if your interested.
What I was trying to recall was a post made about 2 weeks ago and it included head porting, that is not included in the $1995 price. The HP/TQ numbers were a bit higher, too.
At any rate, FuelMoto blew my build away and for way over a grand less money. The downside is that the guy delivered and picked the bike up, so that saved him a ton of money. Just sending them an engine would send prices up and make dyno tuning out of the question. To him it was a 3 to 4 hour trip each way to deliver and pick the bike up, but the turn around was just a few days.
I was hoping to stay with screaming eagle, and keep the warranty if at all possible. So i guess ways to optimize performance one of the screamin eagle set ups would be ideal. I do not know much about the choices except what I have gathered from here.
You can dump all the money you want to in a twin cam motor, but I will tell you this, I have seen a 1974 kawi triple 750 smoke a 120 built with head work, cam's and top of the line clutches, in a fat bob at the strip. What I'm trying to say its a Harley enjoy it for what it is, you can always get a second bike that will out run a built harley at a fraction of the price.
