Horn relocation w/pics
On the other hand, this is where I installed my ignition toggle switch and the switch to operate my cooling fans. I used marine switches with rubber boots, painted it all black and they disappeared.
I like all of your mods, 128, seems that you come up with something new all the time.
EDIT #3: Now I see I was replying to a very old thread. Well, it's late, I'm heading to bed.

I always loved the look of the Springer Heritage horn on this bike ...

... and a few weeks ago, I got the horn kit ...
Well, the instructions say to retain the stock horn ... that the horn pictured is inadequate to meet DOT (or state) regulations on horn volume ...
So, I looked at several of the relocation threads and finally got the project about 80% complete this evening ...
My battery box (since I'm on a pre-'06) doesn't have the same mounting hole you're using ... I bent my own bracket a la forum member WS6 Formula and found a mounting hole on the inner face of the coil mount and ended up putting the horn in more or less the same position ...
I've got the nostalgic horn mounted on the stock mounting position as in the photo above ... but, I didn't bother to run wiring to it ... I may end up splicing the wires and running power to the horn ... just didn't feel motivated enough to do it today ...
I'll post up some photos in a few days if I remember to ... looks a lot like the ones posted on here already ...
Some good work and nice idea for a mod ...

You can't really see the original horn relocated under the seat ... but, you can see the nostalgic horn I've located in the stock mounting position ... the photo also highlights the stainless steel braided fuel line I installed a few weeks ago ...

... close up detail of the horn ...

I think it kind of improves the look ... fits in with the nostalgic theme I've got going ...

But, as I noted in the first post, the MoCo does not recommend detaching the stock horn ... and, in fact, I did not even run wire to it ... (at least not yet) ...
Actually, the wiring to the stock horn had broken a wire connection ... so, the exercise of relocating it forced me to re-wire the horn and restore power to it ... works like a stock horn now ...
