So lately zippers made a software upgrade with new maps added.
With my old map I never had an issue (I also made sure I have the correct speedo claibration numbers for my bike).
Once in a great while when I ride the speedometer wont work, Battery light will go on, engine light, and the security key light will go on. Once I restart the bike the problem is fixed.
I had that problem happen twice. Called Zippers and they said the ECM loses communication. They recommended using dielectric grease on the main plug and if possible put on a cable tie to keep the 2 parts tight together. No problems since.
While I was at it I also cleaned up the fuses and relays and gave them a coat of grease.
Don't forget to pull the ECM fuse before you disconnect the plug.

Barley happens, but still it bugs me.
ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM?
Firstly, if it aint broke, don't fix it. If it was working fine before then why do an 'upgrade'?
Second, sounds like a loose battery connection. Could be you disturbed an ailing connection while messing with the TM this time. Try taking the battery leads off, clean things up and reassemble tightly.
