I have a 2011 WG and the left rear shock squeeks when riding solo gone with 2 up curious if anyone else has run into this and what a solution maybe. I spoke with the dealership briefly they said its probably the belt so I started thining maybe, well its not its the left rear shock. Anything I can do to get rid of this? Thanks
I hear ya. But don't discount the fact that you could have a problem. I had an issue a couple years ago. One of my shocks was leaking oil. Here is my thread
Yeah, thats why I brought it to the dealer right after I started hearing the squeek they check it visually for leaks as did I and have seen nothing. I believe its as you said spring rubbing somewhere weird cause its that exact type of squeek metal on metal.
I have the same issue on my 2010 FXDC....left rear - same as yours - can't seem to figure it out either. Sometimes it does it and other times it doesn't - doesn't do it when my wife rides with me though - only solo.

Try this, pull the shock and look at the mounting studs, if any unusual wear on the studs, I'd put a real light coat of white lithium grease on the studs. Install the shock and take it for a ride. Still squeeking, spray some silicone lube on the rubber piece inside the springs.
Anyone else have any insight on how to cure this getting old fast!! I may just make an appt at the dealer to have them fix. I don't wanna be that guy who is a PITA but brand new bike with squeeky shock just should not be IMO.
