Beagle1,
You have a WG correct? You definitely have a different speedo than I do and I have heard of others where the speedo pin works. That's why I suggested that he try it first. That probably explains it though. I hooked it up TWICE on mine just to make sure I got a good connection. I know of someone that has a SG Custom and his speedo pin 3 didn't work either.
Kevin
Kevin, You didn't have the pink wire tucked up in the harness either? I had to cut it completely off to find it. Then I taped up back up with friction tape like used on Automotive wiring harnesses.
One thing I have learned from 21 years of wrenching on internal combustion powered stuff...many times there are changes in mid-year or something. I had many a FoMoCo harness that didn't match the wiring diagram when trying to find a short, etc. Really sucks when the color wire you are looking for is now a different color due to supplier changes...rocket scientists I tell ya'.
From the looks of my setup you can just add the bombay bars and the tach if you like. I'll check it out when I get home this evening and make 100% sure but it shouldnt be a problem and will then look similar to the one on dxrich pics.

Nope, totally different speedometer and there is nothing but a single detachable connector on the back and no extra wires in the dash anywhere either. I split open the sheathing when I did another wiring related project and there wasn't a pink wire hidden up there either. It was a bummer at first. Even the service guys said I'd have to get some kind of signal pickup thing to hook to one of the ignition coils. The signal wire on my mini tach was yellow and I think most are pink.

What Springer front end is that you have on your bike? Man it looks great on there.
It's from a 1996 Bad Boy. Here are two better shots:
Those bars look wicked on there. Great looking bike. I'd love to pu em on my 06 Low Rider but what do I do with the idiot light mounts that are part of the riser top mount? Any ideas?
Hey thanks for the help. As it turned out I had to get the Tach signal from the #3 pin in the ECM. I got it working and just cant wait until the main speedo harness arrives so I can get it all togeather and get some riding in now.
