Thanks Guys! I’ve always loved the old school flame look on a Wide Glide and found the right deal, so I went for it. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
HA! I’ve seen the same paint job on mailboxes! You are not alone... my GF said she liked the red better, too, because it was “different”. She says now it “just looks like a Harley”… EXACTLY!!
At least with the red I never had a problem finding my bike at a rally! Easy to spot the red in a sea of black Harleys! Although I think I won’t have any problem finding the flamed WG either.

To the best of my knowledge, I have the stock mini apes that came on an 02 Wide Glide. I really like them! I'm 6'2" and they are just about perfect. I can ride for hours and hours and never have any shoulder / arm soreness or numbing / tingling in my hands and fingers. I've been toying with the idea of getting taller apes for it to make it look more old school but I'd hate to lose the comfort I have with the mini apes.

So what do you think the next step should be?
- Bigger apes?
- Different seat? (although the Mustang is comfy in it's ugliness)
- Chrome the chain guard / sprocket / swing arm?
- Different sissy bar?
- Chrome cases and forks?
- Different Headlight?
- Air cleaner?
