Chrome Fork Lowers
Anybody chrome their fork lowers? Any cons to doing this? Anything to watch out for besides making sure the insides are super clean? I searched and didn't come up with any pics, so post 'em up if you got 'em. Thanks

I think for what it would cost in dollars and downtime, you would be better off to buy a set, you can find them fairly reasonable on ebay. I only paid 150 for mine

Some outfits do an exchange. Like getting a battery or starter and paying a core charge. The job isn't too tough.

When I first installed it, the front end seemed more solid. More "feeling" than anything quantifiable. The chrome fluted dust caps overlap the top of the chrome lowers, instead of butting against the "step" at the top, so they fit a little lower. I had to hog out the mounting holes in the fender brackets so the fender would ride closer to the tire, thus providing juuuust enough clearance between the fender and the Fork Brace. Most folks really like the look of the beefy Screamin' Eagle brace (discontinued).
