This is the exact reason it will not work.....ALL of the new models, with the exception of the Sportsters (I believe) have all new ECM/BCM and CAN/LAN cabling...the main wiring harness is based more on a computer network rather than standard wiring...the main harness the ECM the handlebar controls and all associated hardware are of a new design....I do not believe there will be a way to retrofit anything to the older systems since the technology is quite different.
Yeah...sucks don't it. I still can't belive they never made a 4" to fit the 06-11 bikes. Hell that's a pretty big sweep of bikes.

Yeah, was thinking the same. Anyone know what year the bike's mileage came from the ECU and was simply displayed on the speedo rather than the speedo retaining the mileage? I'm thinking even if you did re-splice the harness for a new electronic combo your odometer wouldn't work, and eventually you could be accused of tampering/odometer fraud.

Damn, this guy is really really smart and seemed to add alot to the forum....too bad the mods banned him.......
This absolutely S U C K S!!! This is the only thing I want for my bike to set it off!! The other one I wanted wouldn't fit my 2011 WG and I am not a fan of the Dakota's. I understand what others have said about it not working but why would Harley not make one to fit the 2011 models. I absolutely LOVE my Harley and would never part with it but it's stuff like this that really upsets me about Harley Davidson. Hell, if I would have believed and listened to them, I would have never put my LED headlight on my bike (which works perfect but states it's not compatible with my bike).
