I am from UK, own a nice 2007 FXDC and will be visiting Daytona, FL in about 7 days.
I am considering replacing the standard rear shocks and have heard that Progressive are an improvement over stock fitment.
I don't want to lower the bike - standard length is good for me.....
Could I please get some opinions as to whether Progressive are better (worth making the change over stock), what model (part) number I require, and any suggested retailers that could ship to FL within 7 days?
I have a 2007 FXDC and also live in Philippines so take advantage of buying parts whenever in the states. When I went over to the US a few years back, initially bought some Pro 412HD 11". Bad mistake on my part. I should have gone with the 440s, but even the 412 13" is better than stock. Too bad you cant order a set of Ricors in time, which is what I have on now, but takes months to receive.
Just go to Progressive's website and check the what size you want to go with. Then check Eastern Performance/Dennis Kirk or any other site that has free shipping. Or if in a bind, can overnight it to your hotel or wherever your staying and then check them into your baggage. Heck, also try Amazon, amazing what you can find on their site and they have pretty good shipping as well. Then unpack and put in your luggage for trip home. Should not exceed checked baggage limit unless your buying a lot of other stuff.
any aftermarket shock should be better than stock . HD should be ashamed of themselves for not putting a better suspension on such a great bike. Progressives do work better than stock.

Thanks for that - think I'm going to go for a pair of 440s 12.5"
