Alright I think I'm gonna take the plunge and pick up another bike. My dyna is where I want it and I have no future plans on doing anything to it and want to leave it a solo ride. I'm thinking of a streetglide or roadglide or a deluxe. Both touring bikes I would leave pretty much stock except for maybe some slip-ons and backrest plus some minor doo-dads but the deluxe would be a different story. I like the classy look of the deluxe and would end up dumping like 5k into it right off the bat for ride wrights, air ride, apes and fishtails. This new bike will be a two up ride since the gf is always hounding me to go for rides and I think the touring bikes would be the better choice. Although the deluxe can handle two up without any problems, I think in the long run it would end up being a solo ride like the dyna. So if you guys were in my shoes what would you do? A local dealer is already offering $1500 gift cards on '11 leftovers.

Out of all the touring bikes, I like the looks of the Street Glide the most, I HATE the road glide, I think it is hideous looking.
ok... do not hate me... if you go HD only way i would go is road glide, no question... however... take a gander at the Victory Cross country... and, ahh never going to hear the end of this... the kawasaki vaquero... both are amazing bikes. i think i am leaning towards mteh cross country and my bro is looking very hard at the vaquero.
if you watn to stay HD, hard to bear a fix moung fairing like the road glide has, that would prob the only other HD i woudl own (road glide or road glide ultra)...other than a sporty, i would take one of them in a heartbeat!
but anyonoe that has road a fix mount fairing over fork mount will never go back to a fork mount style... ride em both you will see
Yeah I never really liked the road glide before but the more I look at it the more I'm liking it in black denim, but I haven't ridden one yet. I had a street glide for a few days back when my motor was being built and loved it! I was surprised on how it handled in the twisties and how light it felt plus the gf loved the seat and backrest and we both liked having the radio blastin! But then there's the deluxe, classy old school looks and with a few adjustments will make a killer ride! My fear is I get the deluxe and go all out and end up with another solo bike! It's a hard decision cause I like the idea on the touring bikes having storage and being roomy enough for the both of us, but the deluxe keeps calling me.

Not going to flame you Joe, will have to join you. That Vaquero is sweet. I love the way it looks an sets......And Kawis are a great bike. Put 30,000 plus miles on an old VN800 and a Nomad.
However if you think resale is crap on a Harley. Try owning a Kawi cruiser. 2008 Vulcan Nomad. Sticker around 13,000. 13 months later with 18,000 miles with added 1500 fairing, V&H duels, mustang seats etc...i was offered 4500 for trade in....... The market for a used metric (harley wannabe) cruiser just isnt there.....
However if i was in the position to be able to keep my Dyna and get a touring. For the money it would be hard to choose between the RK and the Vaquero.....

I'm keeping my Dyna and plan on getting a Street Glide in about a year and a half. I thought about the Road Glide too but just can't get passed the looks of the fairing. I've never ridin one and maybe I should but it's still hard to get passed the looks of it.
I would definitely get a touring bike as a second. Any of the HD models would be a good second. If you like the Deluxe what about the Road King Classic. Similar style but still all of the Touring comforts like cruise control.
