Air Cleaner Troubleshooting
I started noticing a weird sound when my bike was running. It is most noticeable when you first start it. It goes away pretty much after you have put a few miles on it. But even if you shut off the bike for a minute at your stop it will make it again when you start it back up. Then, once again, it will go away after a few miles. I also noticed that my air cleaner has been "sucked in" on the front side of it (see pictures). The noise is something like a scrapping noise but it isn't scrapping it is like a weird gulping noise like it is trying to get more air through the filter then it is being allowed to get. What is going on? Is the air cleaner being "sucked in" like that normal? I never got hit by anything. It created that pushed in thing completely on it's own.
