Unhappy Help

I recently installed the Harley LED tail lamp. PN-68087-08
I just installed the Harley Sissy Bar Auxiliary Brake and Tail Lamp. 59470-06A.
This unit uses a Y type harness to split the signal from the main harness to the 2 brake lamps. It IS installed correctly!!
Since I've installed it, the main tail lamp only works as a running light. In other words it doesn't brighten when i press the brakes.
Harley doesn't mention it anywhere, but do I need a load equalizer or some other electrical add-on to make these two parts work together????
The Sissy bar unit says it draws 230ma. The LED tail lamp doesn't even mention it....

Here are the instructions for the LED sissy bar light:

The tail light worked fine before the installation of the sissy bar light...
I've checked the wiring and all the connections at least 5 times; they are all correct..
What am I missing? Any ideas?

Sounds like a case of testing out the wires with a test light and or multimeter (VOM), in order to see where the current stops and or goes to. (possibly one of the wires is crossed up within the terminal housings)

Haven't tried that yet SteveO. Thanks for the tip. I'm on my way to the local Indie today to have him check it out.
