Default Tri Bar led tail light problem

Has anyone ever had any problems with their led tail light. I have one on my bike and it has not given me a problem but my buddy has one and we were out riding last night and his is flickering when you are going down the road. Looks like there is a loose connection somewhere. We checked the harness and everything is good. Maybe internally something is loose. Just wondering if anybody ever had that problem before.

I have it. No problems to date.

Also have not seen anything on here with anyone else having problems.

I have it..no problem..check your connections not only at the rear tail lamp connector, but also at the wiring harness under the seat. Make sure nothing's pinched.

One of my buddies had a short directly in one of his LED lights...we soldered it and it has worked fine since. Good luck finding and fixing -

Problem solved. Just a little solder on one of the boards and she's good as new. Thanks for the help.

I have an 08 night train and am on my second tri bar light. the first one went out within a year. the second went out in three months. the problem is the solder between two circuit boards breaks loose. that’s why if flickers when you ride or tap in the light. The second tri bar I bought I was able to open it and re-solder the connection. It worked for a about a year but is started to flicker again last night. Those things are expensive and I don’t know if I want to buy another one for a third time. And fixing them is a pain if your are not careful. The light is sealed and is easy to break the circuit board when opening them up. I trashed the first one that way. If only the solder was made better when the make them at the factory. I think it breaks with the bikes vibration when riding.

My first one leaked to the point that you could see the water inside it. I pulled it apart (abd you guessed it, it was not sealed correctly). I dried it all out, coated the circuit boards in water dispersant and stuck it back together and sealed it correctly. A while later it started flickering. Initially I thought that it was playing up from getting wet before I fixed it. I talked the dealer into replacing it under warranty but the flicker was still there. Turns out that my front break lever was not retuning fully and leaning on the switch, which was causing it to flicker. Put a kit through the front master cylinder and problem was fixed. Master cylinder rebuild kits are far cheaper than tri-bars and easy to fit.
