Hi was wondering i have a tri bar tail light and for some reason i have 4 leds that are not working.I looked at the light and its sealed has anyone taken on apart and if so can anyone give me some advise on getting it apart without destroying it.Thx in advance
Chances are the parts came from the same factory in china that the HD version came from. I know its not an identical match but close enough. I have seen the same post from users with the Genuine HD product. I would take it apart if you still have your original tail light assembly(just in caSE). Chances are a solder broke loose. I would be suprised if the LED went bad. Even your cheapest LED's should last for thousands of hours.
My center LED brake light for my 07 Honda Civic stopped working, I pulled it out and resoldered it. Saved the 175.00 price of the replacement part plus labor.
I have the eBay version and on the surface it's identical in every way to the HD version. I've put over 1000 miles on rough WA roads and have had zero issues.
I, as others have stated, do believe the path to tranquility is to not overtighten the mounting tabs. It is a **** poor design, but the aesthetics outweigh the lack of common sense engineering.
i saw the hd from a bud and light looks identical anyways i am looking for anyone that has taken one apart it looks like its a sealed unit and i remember a guy on the forum took one apart that was an hd one that got some water in it cant find the post just wondering what he used to take it apart.most stuff you buy from harley now isnt made in the us anyways comes from overseas.I will try in the winter to take it apart i am sure the leds are ok maybe as was mentioned a soilder joint or something like that
