Look for a burned out bulb before you do anything else

probably a short somewhere. make sure you dont have any pinched wires or anything. prob in under the rear fender or around the controls. check your fuses to see if you popped the one for the blinkers and that should get your speedo back going, but dont press the blinker again until you find the problem. mine shows the red key symbol now when i press the blinkers because i cut the wires on them. also my friends sportster did the same thing last week. he had a pinched wire in around the controls.

Broken signal wire wire. A shorted wire should've blown a fuse.

If you have any LED lights on the bike, that could be the cause, too.
It could be remedied with the installation of a load equalizer.

Even without a load equalizer the sigs will work, only they flash faster.
Hopefully it's just a bulb.

Mine didn't flash any faster, but the key light was on until I did the equalizer.

your turn sigs are controlled by the same unit that controls your security system (if you have security), the TSSM.
There is some weird electrical voodoo going on in that box at times that can lead you on a wild goose chases. As already stated, check ALL the simple stuff, bulbs, fuses, broken wires where they can be easily inspected etc etc. The TSSM is an expensive unit to replace, or can be embarrassingly expensive to have the dealer diagnose a crappy fuse for you.

ask me how i know...

additionally somewhere on the forum is a list of error codes, you could save yourself some *** chasing by checking for an error code.

Good luck

The key symbol states the bike has thrown a code. You need to check codes. As someone has already said search the forum for procedure to do so.
