I have a 2010 Super Glide Custom FXDC, all stock and want to replace the slip on mufflers so I can get rid off the cats (I believe they are in the mufflers and not in the head pipes) and some heat.
Does anybody know if the 80112-97 or 80258-99A will fit my bike and head pipes? Like I said, I just want to eliminate the catalytic convertors and probably would gain a little more sound as well since the above mufflers should be less restrictive.
Any advice or your experience with either set up is greatly appreciated.
Is that a harley number? I wouldn't put screamin eagle pipes on my bike, just not loud enough for me. My HD dealer recomended the rush slip ons with the 2.25 baffles. It is loud as full headers, so be advised. Many people here use the 1.75 baffles for a softer sound but way better then stock. And yes the cats are in the stock slip ons.
I would suggest XEID's to bring the heat down and to add much needed fuel to your bike. (big difference in performance to me) Best 100 I ever spent and if you can take your seat on and off you can install them in under 15 minutes. That part alone will cool the bike 25-30 degrees.
I just put Vance and Hines 3" slash cut mufflers on mine and I couldn't be happier - went with the quiet baffles and it's anything but quiet - a nice deep tone to it.

Newbe question here. What are XEID's? Tried to search this forum and all I saw was a pair for sale but not what they are, then did a Google search but the web site for XEID would not display.

The biggest problem with a new harley is that they run very lean from the factory to meet EPA standards. The biggest complaint I had with my new dyna was the extreme heat and a slight surge when cruising. The Xeid's fool the computer to give the bike more fuel. You can run with your stock bike or run them with A/C upgrade and pipe upgrades without remapping or buying an expensive tuner.
If you can remove your seat and re-install you can put them on yourself in less then 15 minutes.
