i have 3 harbor freight lifts. they work great! have had every bike you can possibly imagine on them and they work awesome!
get teh 20% off coupon in the back of the bike mags (like hot bike) and use that, you can get them for around $250 i think... i added a chuck to the front of ours and they work great!
check old machine shops too, like bigger factories, i know they arnt originally designed for bikes, but i snagged two that are like 3'x3' and they crank up to like chest height, some minor fabrication makes them great for working on bikes,
