Default Not Loud Enough.

Hey all, I just bought a 2005 FXDI Superglide and I love it! Growing up my Dad always had an HD in the living room. So It only made sense for me to have my own. As soon as I bought it I had forward controls, stage 1 performance kit, and Screamin Eagle Slip ons installed. Granted, the SE's are 3 times as loud as the stock emissions friendly pipes, but they arent loud enough. I have been told that the Fuel Injected models like this require certain pipes, all of which provide tons of backpressure. Do any of you have ideas on what pipes would be best for me? This is what I'm looking for:

1. Loud. Very Very Loud. Like Ticket loud. Or wake up People in the next state loud.
2. 2" minimum OD.
3. Works fine with the fuel injection and provides descent backpressure for good performance
4. Staggered or short length

Thanks for any input! This is what my scooter looks like now with the SE slip ons and detachable sissybar and back rest.

You probably won't find anything louder than straight drag pipes. That being said, while they're loud, check some of the threads on this board and you'll find that depending on your set up, performance can SUCK with unbaffled straight pipes. Pipes need a certain amount of backpressure to work properly and unless you're going to run flat out at the top of the rpm scale, my guess is that you'd be disappointed with the performance of drag pipes. Personally, I'm running V&H Big Shots Staggered on my '04 Dyna and they're plenty loud enough for the normal person w/o waking the dead.

Just curious, why would you want to get a pipe based on the decible level it puts out? You can still get a good performance pipe that is WAY louder than stock w/o pissing off the neighbors and getting attention from the men in the cars with the red lights on top. Just my .02 worth.

Well, I'm not deciding solely on decible level, but it is a heavy factor. I have nearly been ran over a couple times when riding in town because my bike is not that loud. In this part of the country, its very common for trucks to run straights, so they dont hear you. Plus, thats the signature of a Harley, that loud thumping as you pass the metric cruiserz. I wanna be able to pull up next to a car at a stop light and when I take off, I'll **** off all the yuppies. lol. I really like the V&H Big Radius, but I dont just want a good look, I want big sound. I was told by my HD dealer that I could go with straights but would need torque cones to install at the top of each pipe to provide my v-twin with backpressure. I certainly would not want straights if I lost all my performance.

Cycle Shack, Khrome Werks and Python are said to be real loud. However, real loud varies in opinion from one person to the next.

Forget taking out the baffles...just take the pipes completely off! Cheap also.

V & H Big Radius. Remove the stock baffles and put in Thunder Monster baffles. Will be more than loud enough and performance is good. I've posted this on another subject but a friend of mine that has these pipes gets 92hp and 99.51 torque on his 95" upgraded engine. Pipes look good on the Dyna as well IMHO.

Good luck!

Well, as much as I LOVED the big radius pipes, The wife said she hated them, she really liked the Big Shot Staggered. So I orderd them from a friend of mine that owns a local Yamaha shop. I got them the same price as cyborgcyles.com $449.95 J&P cycles book has them for $574.95 so I dont pay shipping and hes gonna install them for free. I have heard great things about these pipes, hope they are as loud as I want.
