Default Question to Dyna Riders for New Owner

Folks,

An old friend bought a 2008 Dyna LowRider a couple weeks ago. He's trying to find whether HD, or someone else makes a set of floorboards for the bike. I told him I would ask here and let him know what you guys can tell him.

Thanks for my friend.

The new 2012 Switchback has some really nice boards on it. Same frame. Different brackets for the boards. Someone posted the part numbers for everything a few days ago. They'd be my first choice if I hadn't been through so many different configurations already.

Hello Wiskers,

This is pretty motch "old ground" at the forums. I've been researching the same thing for my '06 Superglide and this is what's up for me.
Yes, the '12 FLD (Switchback) boards seem to be a good prospect for this mod. Howerver, there's another set out there from Wyatt's. From what I've been told, they made the boards for the HD FXDP some years ago HD part no. 50601-01 that is no longer available in kit form from HD. They are still available from Debrix.com, part no. 27-0920-VT.
I'm looking real close at the Switchback boards myself. their brackets are lower and, more forward than the Wyatt's and I'm looking for more leg room.

Here's some of the numbers for you for the the '12 FLD Switchback.

54174-12 bracket
54173-12 bracket
54172-12 bracket
54165-12 bracket
50621-06 boards (2)
33789-12 rod assy

Hope this helps....Best of luck. Tim

I've been considering a set of Wyatt Gatling floorboards (Part # 27-0920). Pricey but comes with everything needed. Fits '96-'11 Dyna FXDs

Lots of options, W!

The FXDP boards will fit. The shifter plate assembly (#9 in this parts diagram) however will not fit to Dyna's 2006-up!

You will find Instruction Sheets for the OEM and aftermarket floorboard kits in my ***H-D instruction sheets database***.
For his 2008 model he will have to mount the V-Twin floorboards (click the link below to view them):

Cool switchback boards this is what they look like

the pain of waiting for my bike has been increased by adding the service manual to my list of torture devices.
any other questions about how/what these are held together with?
