I was putting my bike in the trailer yesterday, and having to leave my fob behind with the bike for the week-end - the fob was off my key chain. Wel i placed it somewhat precariously between the risers of the , jammed into the wiring there for just a second or two whilst fidgeting with sumpm else, when the fob came loose and fell off into the opening of my frame just in front of the gas tank and i heard it rattle all the way down to some unseen part of the frame! AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH !!
Please someone tell me this has happened before and there is a way to get it out of there??

Are you saying it fell INTO the frame where the wires go? or just between the frame and the tank? My frame doesn't have any openings where you describe except on the sides of the neck for wires. Sounds like you may be pulling your tank off...or at the least loosening the tank bolts, removing the rear bolt and lifting the rear of the tank up.
Never heard of that happing before. It should come out the same way it went in... if you can reach it.
No kidding well if we apply the law of gravity "what goes up must come down" theoretically i could turn the bike upside down and just shake it out right?
@ Eric just look in front of your console you will see the frame's down tube is square and just a 2x2" opening. My fob fell in there!
Man you may want to call your deaer on this one cause I have no idea how your going to get that outta there it might be in there for good. If is in the frame and ya can't reach it, I think its probably there for good. Good Luck
Don't know if this would help but how about one of those automotive retrieving tools might be able to fish it down the opening to get it
Yeah bit i think it will need to be high tek and equipped with a light and camera on the far end. I had a long ty-wrap with duct tape on the end but did not manage to stick the unseen fob to it. If I remove the tank will there be an openning to see down there is one thing I neeed to know.

I would think it's just in the back bone. If it were open all the way down the front tubes your frame would be able to fill up with water during washing or rain and that just doesn't sound right. Maybe some who's pull thier tank off can help ya.
