I don't like, did I say don't like?, I HATE how quiet my stock pipes are on my 2011 FXDWG are. I can't afford new exhaust yet, not even slip ons. It's gotta wait till tax returns (i've got 5 kids....). A buddy said he can remove the stock baffles from my pipes and they will be LOUD. But loud and sounding good are not necessarily the same right? Will this just be loud, or good and loud? Will it mess with compression? I need some input from more experienced riders than myself. Should I leave it and wait, or do it as a temp fix for the pipes?
Personally I would not remove the baffles completely, you will lose some torque. If you have the cat in the pipe it will not be super loud, but will not sound good in my opinion.
You can easily modify your stock pipes, check my link under my sig pic for ideas.

Pipes or pipes mods are a must!
Was just saying yesterday, when I bought my WG I road home and couldnt tell what gear I was in.
Waaay to quiet!
I had a set of slip ons waiting at the house!
An added question I just recalled. I have 2 different riding buddies, both have softails.they both have vandh pipes they no longer want. would these ever fit my bike or is that simply too much? I never really grasped the difference in the exhausts.
No difference in the pipes, the difference is how you mount them, you would have to fab a mount, or if you could find someone with the a Dyna mount for those pipes you would be set. Not sure if you could buy just the mount from V&H
