Yea that search thing is a real tough thing to use. And to be honest there are so many Switchback threads and So many people feel the same as you about the wheels, it's just nothing new. If you took 1 minute to have looked you would have known. But hey... Have a nut man. Rinse and repeat...your hissy off

Ok this may sound kind of dumb, but did changing the bars help the feeling in the front end? When i took one fro a drive, i got the impression that having your wrists at an angle gave it a heavy or sluggish feeling. personally i am used to drag bars, and my new (new to me) SB has the mini apes, the wide glide i tried had drags and both keep your hands and wrists realitively straight, and neither had the same sluggish feeling in the front.
Perry,
I'm 6' and the bars are 12.5" chubby apes. Actually, the new bars aren't ideal as they lifted my hands about 2" too high and spread my arms out a little too far. I'm getting used to them (drove mountains [cook's corners] area yesterday) and it's feeling better but I'm not ideally positioned. I used to run z-bars and I understand what you are saying about wrists and hands being straight. I too, prefer that. I've had two shoulder surgeried too so comfort is important to me. the apes felt good when i picked them out but after only a couple of hours I could feel it. If I was to do again i would either keep the stock apes and do a 6" riser or go to a z-bar that was really fat on the bottom to keep the fat look up-front and then transition to a regular size grip area with the sharp angle. Hope I'm making sense. I saw the ideal bar to accomplish the above and it is a screaming eagle #55800039. I tried to pull up a picture and can't get a image. But Laidlaw's parts gave me that number so it's the right one. I saw them on a cvo custom at laidlaw's this weekend and perhaps they have it on their website so you can see them. Problem is; they are $480 just for the bars. However, knowing what i know now, i would definitely do that...still may but I'm throwing away too much on the apes I just bought. They look awesome as the bottom is really fat and curved to pick up the lines of the front end and then they angle abruptly for the Z. Very cool and about 3" shorter than the apes I just installed. Dude go slow on your mods, I went too fast and even though I'll be fine in the long run, I didn't think it all the way out. It;s important for long runs to keep your hands below your heart (helps with fingers going numb) and really feel what new muscles you will be now using when you go new set-up. Like I said, felt good during set-up felt different later on the road. Hope this helps.

My thoughts on these wheels in question are they scream hotrod but the bike does not. They would be sweet on others in the Dyna lineup though. The more traditional spokes cast wheels would have fit the bike better but I still would have went with laced!.
