I have been riding sportbikes my whole life. I finally got a new 2011 Street Bob and I love it but I have one issue that I need to fix ASAP. I sit on my bike and my reach to the bars is very comfortable with the stock bars but when I'm riding, it feels like I'm having to hang on instead of just loose grip cruising. I constantly adjust myself but it always seems to end up the same way. Could it be that my bars aren't pulled back enough or that I'm too far back in the saddle? Should I get lower bars with more of a pullback. I was thinking of putting Nightster bars on but I'm not sure.
To add to this I am about 5'9" this year. Back is crooked and I have gotten an inch shorter over the past 3 years according to the doc. Hopefully I can stay this height with my physical therapy. Yes it's amusing and flame all you want. Just looking for advice from guys that have been around cruiser types and Harleys for a while.
I would love to do that but I'm moving in 2 weeks and very short on cash. I'm looking for something that will work with my integrated risers. I will change the top triple one day to get rid of those integrated risers, just not yet.
not super cheap but well worth the $ west coast t-bar makes bars for the streetbob tree. i have straight risers on my bike and i love it. i feel really relaxed even my hands. http://westcoast-tbars.com/index.php...gory&cat_id=11
Seat and bars are everything!
imo, go to a local dealer, see the different set ups on the used dynas, and tryem out.
adjust what you have and see how you like it.
I'm kind of in the minority myself. I rode apes in the 70's but had the same problem at highway speeds, felt like my body was a sail and I was constantly fighting the wind. Without a windshield I prefer a slightly leaned forward riding position. I'm running FXDC bars on my FXD and like them a lot.

+1 on that.
Most dealers have Fit stations now where you can try different seats and bars. And maybe you'll find changing just one for now will work.

I feel like a sail too! Windshield has cut down on that for sure. But my center of gravity is certainly higher than most and definitely effects the handling of the bike.
