The spacers are different sizes, that being said if your brake pads arent rubbing your disc the spacers are installed correctly. So no your wheel is not centered because its not supposed to be. Tweak the fender over til it looks right and go riding.
Please show me where it says ANYWHERE that the front tire is not suppose to be centered.
No, that's not just for dual disc wheels. That is the main purpose of that hole, how else would you make sure the axle is aligned properly?
just looked at the manual...only mention of the axle hole is to place screw driver in it to hold in place while you torque axle nut....which I did and it never
drew it in that far..leave it to GS, to make it vague
Since mine is an 05 they may not be the same, but the axle has a shoulder to stop the spacer on the throttle side, you can see a small gap between the slider and spacer in the pic below.
IF you tightened the throttle side clamp at all before tightening the axle nut it would draw the slider closer to the wheel instead of drawing the axle through the slider. That is why you have the screwdriver or whatever in the hole so it stops at the slider.
This is why I asked about stiction on your sliders, if it is not aligned properly it can cause the sliders not to slider properly.
The wheel should be centered if the alignment was done correctly.

My Buddy had that gap and (not knowing it is supposed to be there or that there was a shoulder to stop the slider from moving freely) loosened the axle cap and moved the fork leg over (towards the tire) and snugged it down to take up the space. I will have to let him know so he can adjust that.
But wondering if the original poster's 07 has that "space" and that is what the indy had done...?
