I run one on the clutch side not inverted. I tried inverted and didn't like it.

I run one, on the left side, and it works fine for me. Does limit your sight, but I usually glance over my shoulders anyway.

I had thought of doing the same when I get around to putting my new bars on. If you beat me to it, let me know how you feel about it.

Anyone know if it'll even work for me if I'm only planning to go up to 12" bars?

I thought about going with just one on my clutch side. To big a safety concern to me. Ride the mountains to much to go with just one.

I run one mirror inverted on the clutch side and it works great for me. I'm sure you'll see a little better with two mirrors (that goes without saying). But two things stopped me from doing that. One, I thought it looked awful running the two stock mirrors inverted. And two, I was amazed at just how good I was able to see behind myself. The mirror gives me a complete image without any blockage from my body. It even sits at an angle to where after approx. 20 feet behing me, it starts to cross over onto my right side field of vision. So well to where it almost takes the place of having a mirror on that side. A few people have ridden on my bike, and they've always complimented on how well they could see behing them with that one mirror.

However, I will say this...each ride is different as far as whether one mirror will work well for you, or not. It depends on how tall you are, how tall the bars are, and what type of mirror and the mount system it uses. I've sat on other bikes to where you couldn't see **** out of the inverted mirror because one of those variables just didn't allow it to work. Matter of fact, I always wanted to go with an aftermarket mirror on mine...but the stock mirror and it's mount work so well, I couldn't do it.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I run one mirror on clutch side. I have 18" bars and tried to invert, but couldnt see past my shoulder. So I threw it on top. Works for me

I run 2 inverted with 18's and my arms are in the way of my view unless I move my head or arms a little.
