Trying to get ideas on what to do with my santa money this year. Thinking about the V&H Big Shots Staggered or the HS Slipons. I know both have quiet baffles available. Are the Big Shots louder than the slipons and if so how much? Without changing A/C I know you don't need a Fuelpak or PCIII with the slipons but wasn't sure about the Shots. Like the looks of the Shots better but the slipons are cheaper. Volume is a consideration cause I like my neighbors and I go to work at 10:30 at night. Opinions are welcome.
Do the Shots have a bung in place for the O2 sensor?? I really don't know anything about efi, I run a carb, but I haven't really understood why a person has to retune efi after swapping pipes.
Just looked at the V&H website and it says Includes mounts for new factory O2 sensors. I know with the slipons if muffler change only thats all you need to do. Maybe since the header tube on the Shots is 2 1/2" it may need to be retuned. Not sure what the stock header dia. is. Guess I could find out from V&H.
i have the big shots staggerds on my 2005 fatboy and 2006 fxd.with pwer commander usb and stage 1 kits.i also put guite baffles in my fatboy pipes, hardly any
difference.i will put back regular baffles.these pipes sound good and loud.lol.easy to keep clean.very rare that i hear better sounding pipes.h.d.slip ons won,t
be loud enough if thats what you,re looking for.i had screaming eagles on my fatboy and crapped them in my harley closet.checkout j&p cycles for prices.i just bought
all my stuff with my local hd shop.i did all my upgrades one at a time.good luck
I have the slip ons, and I love the sound. When I can save the money I'll have the big shots staggered. For the simple reasons, the look better, and perform better. If all you want is a good sounding bike the slip ons are great for that. Also if you go with the shots I would get a fuel pack, or a tuner of some kind.
