I've blown 2 headlight bulbs within the past year, both low beams (high beams ok). Before the last one kicked the bucket, I noticed that it flickered out when I turned the bars full-tilt left. It wasn't affected when it was center or full tilt-right. I could jiggle the wire and it would flicker. Went to the dealership and they think its the alternator overcharging. I think it's the wiring. What do you think?
Also - consider the source, of your bulbs that is. I have a truck that kept blowing the drivers side low beam until I quit buying bulbs at Napa.........their packaging/handling is PP.

I buy the bulbs from Harley. I handle them it very carefully when installing to not get the oil from my hands on the bulb.
I think it's the wiring to, however, the so-called "expert" at the dealership thinks it's the alternator overcharging. I'm taking it in tomorrow to have it checked.
It kinda seems like a no brainer if you could wiggle the wires and the light would flicker.... Have you made any changes (ie: bars, grips, etc.) recently or ever? I believe you have a pinched or shorted wire somewhere close to where your wiggling it. I would try to troubleshoot this before paying the dealer to spend a few hours on your dime.

"They're real and they're spectacular". A great line from the Seinfeld episode when Teri Hatcher is referring to her own, uh, boolbs.
What was the question? Tend to think it's the wiring, overcharging would affect other boolbs. And moving the bars should be a clue it's not the alternator.
