Default Bought a 2012 Switchback today!

Well, its official, just purchased my 2012 Switchback today. Bought it through the HD military sales program here in Iraq (saving some serious $$$ off the bike and financing), I get to pick it up on R&R in March. I just don't know if I can wait that long.

I'm not a huge fan of the 2 into 1 exhaust, I've looked around but I guess its too new for alot of custom stuff yet. I know you can get the nightstick slip on, but is it worth the money (ie sound and performance). I have a friend that bought an '11 Street Glide with the same exhaust and I can't hardly hear his bike when he is just down the block. Am I stuck with this setup for now or is there something out there that I'm missing. The good news is that I'm obviously in no hurry which enables me to get exactly what I want when the time comes.

Thanks in advance!

D&D Fat Cat is a pretty highly regarded 2-into-1 pipe ... others are the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe ....

Both of those pipes have Dyna versions ... not sure if they are proven to fit the new FLD model or not yet ....

I bought my bike through the overseas military sales program, too ... a pretty good deal.

Congrats johnny! Thanks for your service as well.
I've been looking into 2into1 pipes for my fld too and decided to wait for a thunderheader that's made for the fld. I love the sound of those on other 103's so I'm fairly set to go on those when they become avail.
Like others said here, by the time you go on r&r there should be plenty of mods on the market.
Keep your head down bud and don't get none onya.

I just recieved my black FLD
my bike sounds like a cop bike.
hate the pipe
I have a supertrapp on my bagger...
got another one laying around....
would need black covers....
i digress
ignore the instructions completely when installing the quick detach docking hardware.
leave your shock connected just pop the cover off. leave the seat on, do not disconnect the battery. peel off the reflector. all you need to do is fish out the black spacer with a bunch of holes in it with the chrome piece from the dealer.
don't remove the inner backing plate.
the instructions don't say crap about the 4 little plastic nothing plugs that are in the way. cut them.
swap out the bolts with the longer ones in the kit red loctite on everything.
I ran a piece of heavy gaff tape to the chrome side of the dock were it lays flat against my brand new black paint. instructions don't say **** about that either.
don't forget the lover bag docking point spacer (like I did) makes the bags cocked enough to suck. bag will hit the rear bolt head by design (or lack of it) make sure to use the clear plastic 3m stuff in the right spot! open your bag once with or with out the sissy bar. and ding them. doh!
250 bucks with no sissy bar just a place to slide one in to.
glad I haD a stack of them already.
good luck with your fld I love mine the tweaker speedometer really opens up a lot more information from the bike. easy to read the tach etc
congrats we have badass bikes. road queen? hell yeah! mine matches my nail polish and my soul
