So I layed my bike down a week and a half ago (long story). Anyways insurance company comes out and totals it out based on cosmetic damage. Nothing I cant fix so I was gonna buy it back. Today I was told that they are not gonna let me buy it back cuz the loan will not cover it and GAP will not pay anything if I keep it. I really love my bike. I am so bummed I actually want to cry. I still have a softail that I bought for the wife but I hate that bike and I dont even want to go near it. She dont understand why I am so bummed out cuz I still have a bike but I want MY bike. It is perfect for me. I love working on it and tinkering on it. All I wanna do to the softail is burn it.
I just have to vent and I know some of u know how I feel. It sucks so bad. Even looking at a new bike doesnt make me happy
When I totaled my bike a couple decades back, it was completely heartbreaking. Nevermind that it was kind of a piece of **** (an old honda shadow that had seen it's best days long before I bought it), it was my faithful steed, and I loved it to bits.
Some asshat plowed into me at a stop, and I swear i've never been closer to killing a man than that day.
It was ****ing heartbreaking; i never loved the bike I replaced it with like I loved that shadow.
Yeah, we get it, man. You don't just buy a bike like what you just lost, you create it. It's personal.
Jake, try looking at it this way. That was a trial bike for the one your gonna build now, bigger and better. You already know what you want and what works, think of it as a blank canvas, all you as the artist has to do is break out the brushes and the paint to paint your masterpiece.
It will never replace the original bike, although it could be the inspiration to a new creation.
No comments are gonna ease the pain that you're feeling...It's just a bummer that you can't buy it back. How much do they want for this "totalled" bike?
my bike was totaled. it really sucked. untill i got my new bike and now i am glad that car smashed me. lol not the best way to get a upgrade. But I like my new bike much better
