I have a 2007 and replaced the battery a month ago. Then I found that a bad stator was really the problem.

2008 battery,tender during winter only,50,000 kms (30k miles)

Still running the original battery, never used a battery tender or charger, I just ride whenever possible. Best charging system available.

9/2005 I purchased the bike, 35k miles. No tender used, but is now getting weak so looks like 6 years was it's life.

I changed mine at 5years-25K miles.it still worked,But i am getting older now and the bike seems to to be getting heaver to push Ha,Ha!

Tender can be like drugs, may leave you stranded. I would not use it just to be plugging it in. I keep my on when weather does not let me ride but mostly just in the winter. Ride year round weather permitting. I pull battery after about 3-4 years and have it checked for reserve amperage free at auto zone. My battery is 5 years old and has 18K and is weak. Original had 22K and lasted 3 years. Going to try Wally World's gel as soon as they get one with a new looking box. HA Half what Harley wants. Got same brand name in both cars and they seem to work fine. One in a 4x4 truck my son has just died after 7 years.

I got a '97 in 2001. Even if I got her with a new battery it's 10 y.o. But I can tell it's on it's last legs. Longest life for an Yuasa that I'd ever hope for!

Was Tendered up. Also taken out for the Chicago winters over the past years. Will need a new one, no doubt.

Had to replace the one in my 07 Street Bob in Nov of 2008 due to a melted negative terminal caused by the cable coming loose all the time.

I'm like you...06 bike with the original battery. It stays on the tender when it isn't on the road. Compression releases help the starter and battery.
