By buddy in hawaii used to spray a rag with wd 40 and wipe it on all his aluminum parts. He did that about 3 times a week for several years and never got any corrosion. Also it didn't hurt the bike at all. some cheap advice for those that live near the ocean. He lives in FLA now and his bike still looks new.
