that ugly battery cover trim!
wanted to do something about this thing since i 1st saw the bike...never liked it ,never will, just doesnt match the bike IMO..
seen a few different takes on changing it up here on the h.d.f
decided that it too should fall prey to my mad powder-coating skills....so i took the band off of the battery cover,[to prep for coating]
and had a lil idea....
lemme know what you think!
any and all opinions welcome and encouraged!!

That will keep you from slipping off of the bike! Just get a helmet with a spike on the top and then you are set. 
Seriously though, I think it works. The V shape of the spikes goes nice next to the V-twin. Good job.

Cant make my mind up mike, i took mine off today with the same thoughts as you, it looks like sh!!.
I was gonna spray mine wrinckle black, but after seeing yours, i might check what else is out there to put in the holes.
I have plenty off time, cause the weather over here is baltic, and wet, so i have a couple of months to decide.
