Default Tour pack question

Anyone ever take a tour pack from an FL and put it on a dyna? I have a chance to buy a tour pack (cheap) and just wanted to know is it worth the effort to fab up a mount.

thanks
chuck

I am working on this same idea for a trip I am taking soon, but I am using a black pearl color matched trunk I bought off ebay for $120. The gloss black ones are about $90.

8541hog and Jackyl (maybe a couple of others too) have both fabricated brackets for a trunk. At one time Jackyl sold his brackets on ebay, but I was unable to find one, so I started fabricating my own based on some pictures I have seen here and some help from 8541hog. There really isn't much to it if you have the tools, and I got all the materials from the remnants section at the metal supply store for cheap. I should be done with mine by the end of the week; I'll post up some pics if so.

If you have your bike setup for detachable backrest, you can get another set of detach sideplates and fab a mount for the tourpak.

You won't find something already made out there unless Jackyl starts selling them again.

My suggestion, take your parts (tourpak and detach sideplates/rigid sideplates) to a machinist and see if they'll make you something.

Here is an old post from Jackyl regarding adding a tourpak.

Here is what Jackyl's bracket looks like:
