Went to get the bike inspected an it failed because the netrual light is out. They said it's a bad harness and had to order one. The warranty is covering it. Anyone else ever have the (N) light go out?

never happen, also never had anyone look at my nuetral light when i get my bike inspected. they ask me to hit the horn, turn the blinkers on, step and squeeze the brake. they check the tire tread and estimate the brake pads. on my way in 10 minutes.
I dont see how they could tell the whole harness is bad.
Maybe the dealership is just looking for some work and hell they knew yours was under warranty and that they would get paid without much complaint from you.

I've been through more inspections than I care to remember but no one has ever checked my neutral light much less fail the bike because the neutral lamp was out. In my state the inspection law references all the equipment that has to work and the neutral lamp isn't one of them (Texas). Not sure why they would consider the neutral light as "safety" equipment.

Oooh, you had your bike inspected at your local dealer?
Just wondering though...if the "whole harness" is bad, wouldn't that cause issues elsewhere like the bike doesn't run?
