I just picked up a new FXDC and I am Loving the bike. First thing I need to upgrade is the seat. I am 6' 3" with a 34" inseam and the stock seat feels like it is pushing me into the tank.
I am keeping the mid controls and plan on getting some highway pegs to stretch my legs every once an a while but I would like to find a solo seat that raises me up an inch or so and back a little bit. Anybody have any suggestions?
I just switched to a Mustang vintage wide and it lifted me up compared to the Corbin that I had. I can't say the relationship to the tank, but it is definitely up a little. I am the same height and inseam as you and don't think I could live with the mid controls. Maybe that is causing some issues. My forward controls still give me quite of bit of knee bend. I don't feel like I lose that much control with them. It might be worth the switch for you.
I am buying a mustang seat tomorrow. I will sell ya my old one if you want it. I have a 32 inch leg and my seat is both 1 and 2 up with removable back half. I had no problem with legroom however I have highway pegs. I kept the mid-controls simply because I ride pretty aggressively and like the balance mid controls provide. Pm me your email addy and I will send pics of single and double.

Looks like they don't let newbies send PMs. What model is the Mustang seat? i can try and look at it online..
I used a Sundowner solo which lifted me a little and moved me back. Some Harley dealers have a 'fit centre' so you can swap seats and bars round easily to see what gives you the best fit. Might be worth calling your nearest dealer.
