Default Lowering block install...with no lift.

Planned on installing my 1" blocks this weekend until I checked out my lift last night and the bottle jack is shot. Is there a way or whats the best way to get these installed without a lift? thanks for the help - JS

I don't have a jack, so here's what I did. Took a ratchet strap, and while under my carport, strapped it from the sissy bar to the brace in the roof. Just enough to keep pressure and keep the *** from dropping down on me. Did one at a time. It was easy, and took maybe 30 minutes total. I use the ratchet straps under the carport for everything I've done to my bikes. Maybe one of these days, Santa will deliver me a jack!

Thats how I did my struts. Wicked sketchy and dangerous but it got it done. Never will I do it that way again. Have a lift now and am looking into getting a J&S, I think thats the name, over the winter. I have had my bike on a life too many times since then not to invest in a quality lift.

get three 2x8's each about 3 feet long - screw two of them together so you have a 4x8 that is 3 feet long - take the third one and screw it to the ends of the others forming an "L" - place that just forward of the swingarm and push down on the lever. Doesn't raise it much but it will get the wheel off the ground and its cheap.

When I changed my shocks I used a scissor jack from my car. Just put it under the rear of the frame, works just fine...
