I love my new bike. It is my forth but first Harley. I wanted a bike that performed, comfortable for short (2 - 3 hour rides), had some character and was fun. All of my other bikes were Japanese (dual sport, sport, and standard) so I was a bit apprehensive about buying "old technology" but I couldn't resist the look and sound of the Fat Bob. So I bought a new one off the showroom floor without even a test ride.
I've ridden this bike more than any other and just love it. What I found was it exceeded my performance and comfort expectations. The brakes, suspension and handling will surprise you and it's simply a blast to run through the curvy back roads here in the Northwest. As you can tell, I know I made the right decision for me.
I can't give you a comparison since my '10 is the only Harley I've owned, but like others in here, I've had absolutely NO regrets! Love that machine! The only thing I've wondered about is some occasional wobble - may be normal, or it may be me prepping myself for my next buy (TruTrack).
Put 5,000 miles on my Bob this summer, including the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Dragon in Tennessee - did I mention she absoultely kills the curves, and is a great cruiser! Buy her, ride her, enjoy her!
