I will be getting home soon to pick up my 2012 Fat Bob and was wondering if anyone has tried to get and install LED headlights in the Dual Headlight frame the Fat Bob comes with. I really like the dual head light look. I think dual LED's would be AWESOME and light up the road like crazy.
If I am not mistaken from all the LED headlights I have seen it would be to deep to fit in the OEM mount :-(. I have not seen any for the Fat Bob yet though
HID is possible because the twin lights use H4 bulbs so some creative routing of the ballasts and the harness would make it work. Currently there are no LED units that would fit unless you coould get some to craft a twin 5"3/4 headlight housing using the Fat Bob light as a base to start from. The LED's that are out there at the moment are a new generation multiple focused projector style that will fit the standard 5"3/4 housing like on the Sportster and I think Street Bob and a few others??? and there is a 8 reflector focused sealed unit that will fit most 7" housing like is common on the Softail or any aftermarket bullet or bucket you can find for 7" like the one I put on my Fat Bob. The 7" probably doesn't have the wow factor of the newer designed setup for the 5"3/4 but its cheaper.
If you wanted a dual setup you would either have to go with like the old school Baja look with dual 7"s which I am sure most people would whine endlessly to you about the looks or like I said find a serious fab freak who can weld two 5"3/4 together side by side and then weld the mount tabs up to accept your Fat Bob mount. Would look pretty aggressive IMO but whether it would look good would remain to be seen. If you want to know more about HID (not LED) on your bike PM me and stay safe over there Troop.

Any ideas, tips, or advise?
I recently went from a the stock Fat Bob dual headlight to a single 5 3/4" LED light...
You cannot fit LED's into the Fat Bob headlight housing, so it's really one or the other. As someone here mentioned you could go HID but I prefer the LED setup.
When doing a side by side comparison of my Fat Bob light with Silverstar Ultra bulbs next to the 5 3/4 LED, there was a very noticeable difference where the LED headlight won.
However, keep in mind the FB light (in and of itself) is an already excellent light, with excellent spread.
