I think the stock seat on my 2011 was very uncomfortable. My wife and I went on a 50 mile ride for lunch and we could barely make it. I have since put on a Mustang Wide Vintage on it, and it is very much improved. We have been loving it, and I don't think it takes away from the look of the bike. It all comes down to personal preference though. You can tell by the variance of the posts with many liking the stock and many disliking it.
The stock seat was much harder on my lower back than my butt. After an hour or so, I could hardly climb off the bike. Tried the sundowner solo, but didn't like the lumbar support on it either. Went to the sundowner dual seat and now no problems.
The Mustang Vintage Solo may be better, but for the money spent for the harley seat, it is hard to beat for extended rides. dd50 tomp
Exhaust and stock seats seem to be the first things to go. I’m getting better at my exhaust choices but still do a not so good job in my seat selection. Looks, comfort problem.
I have one and I like it just fine.I like the way it looks too butt...My wife was constantly sliding backwards on it because of the way the back part is shaped so I replaced it with a Harley pillow look and a medium low back rest with matching pad.IMO this is just as comfy as the Sundowner but about a hundred times better looking.Still, if it was just up to me I'd have kept the Superglide seat.
