2010 Transmission
Got a 2010 street bob with 10900 miles. The problem is that under hard acceleration in I think 3rd or 4th gear it seams to either slip out of gear or downshift. It has me puzzled. I happened twice with my old lady on the back and once with just me. Also, the 6 light blinks every now and then. Any comments?

A few thoughts:
1.) Is it popping out of gear on it's own? If this is happening it will usually happen, after you are in gear and have accelerated in that gear at least once, and then it will pop out of gear just as you back off the throttle. If this is what is happening the synchronizer is going bad. It will NOT damage anything else as it progressively gets worse. But over time it will pop out of gear more frequently.
2.) If it is actually completely shifting gears; from one gear to another. The most likely cause is that you are resting your foot on the shift lever. As you back off the throttle gradually/easily, if there is a bit of weight on the shift lever; just as the Engien RPM matches the Transmission Output shaft speed for that gear, the transmission can shift gears. If you actually tried to do this you would grind the &*%$ out the the Gears . . . anyhow, if this is what is happening there really isn't anything wrong with your transmission . . . just move your foot. If you are absolutely positively without a doubt NOT touching the shift Linkage when this happens there may be a problem with the Shift Drum detent inside the transmission . . . which is a minor part that will of course (Murphy's Law)require a lot of labor to get to.
3.) If it's not changing gears or popping out of gear, but the engine RPM's rise noticeably faster than the bike is actually accelerating when you roll on the Throttle on a hard acceleration from a low RPM to start with; then you just need a Clutch Adjustment. which (of course) will not be covered by your warranty.
