In a pickle
The dealer changed the initial oil and filter on the 1000 mile service.
Now it's time for me to do it.
I can't budge the oil filter!!
Bought one of these

and it just won't budge..
Since I put some torque on the filter wrench cap, now it just spins and won't grab.
There are no other wrench options available here.
Crappy part is I live 700 miles below the border at San Diego and basically I am stuck, plus I punched a small hole in the filter by trying to pry off the stuck wrench cap. Double crap!!
I need some drastic measures to get the filter off.
Punching holes to get some turning angle.....insert screwdriver and turn?
Ideas please.

When you put the new filter on don't over tighten and make sure you put some oil on the new gasket. What's the right amount to tighten the filter? You will get some different opinions here. On my last change I got it to where the gasket just started to touch and then roughly a half turn more. It seemed like I was over tightening a little bit, however... The first change from the local Indy they did their hand tight thing and one day I noticed it was leaking and not even hand tight, the rest is history. Personally, I would rather have it just a "little" over tight then start to leak on me somewhere. BL, every setup is different so you will need to see what works best for you.
Good luck

Much better purchase than straps or chains in my experience.
